Jiro Ishihara, born in 1971 near Tokyo, Japan, is a contemporary artist specializing in photography, video, and new media.

In his "The Name of the Sky" series, Ishihara captures images through airplane windows, titling each piece with the flight number and date, such as "AA26_18APR2017."

These photographs emphasize the airplane window itself rather than the external sky, inviting viewers to reconsider their perception of space and depth. This approach reflects his interest in the interplay between two-dimensional and three-dimensional perspectives.

Ishihara's work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Nakanojo Biennale in Japan.
