John Brooke
HW

John Brooke HW is a London-based artist whose work spans painting, film-making, sculpture, and poetry. He holds an M.A. in Fine Art from City and Guilds of London Art School (2022) and a B.A. in Media Arts from Royal Holloway (1999).
Primarily a painter, Heywood-Waddington explores movement, rhythm, and emotional intensity through gestural brushwork and process-driven techniques. His works often draw on personal photos and sketches, delving into themes of memory, time, and the human connection to nature.
John has exhibited widely, including at Wells Art Contemporary (2024), The Other Art Fair, and “A Generous Space” at Huddersfield Gallery (2023). A member of the Dreamscapes collective, he recently completed a residency with Nocefresca in Sardinia (2024). His art invites viewers to engage with narrative, materiality, and human vulnerability.
